Milanese tradition and Italian cuisine

There is no Milan without its cutlet, without the Milanese risotto with ossobuco and without its sweet Panettone. Typical local proposals for those who want to savor and discover the current Italian culinary panorama.

DISHES THAT TELLING HISTORY

From the Milanese tradition to typical Italian dishes

Milan has a culinary tradition closely linked to the territory that surrounds it and above all to its history: it has always been characterized by the elements of the territory and, at the same time, has remained profoundly influenced by the culinary traditions of the numerous rulers who have succeeded one another over time.

There is no Milan without its cutlet, without the Milanese risotto with ossobuco and without its sweet Panettone.

For this reason, the Galleria Restaurant, thanks to the experience of the chef Pietro Carriero, offers in its menu dishes that evoke the history and poetry of a bygone era, combining them with typically Italian proposals for those who want to savor and discover the current Italian culinary panorama.

A welcoming internal room and a lovely outdoor area welcome passers-by at any time of the day, for a quality lunch or dinner surrounded by the architectural splendor of the Gallery, combined with the particular courtesy and confidentiality typical of the Galli family.

The most loved dish

Pizza in the wood-fired oven

Pizza is the most well-known and loved Italian dish in the world, whose invention seems to date back to 1889. It was the chef Raffaele Esposito who prepared it in honor of Margherita di Savoia, the Queen of Italy: it is no coincidence that the toppings used, the tomato, mozzarella and basil represent the colors of the Italian flag. The wood-fired oven gives the pizza an inimitable taste thanks to the aroma released by the logs, also giving it the characteristic of making it lighter and more digestible.

Pizza is one of the dishes par excellence of Mediterranean gastronomy and cooking it in a wood oven means respecting the original preparation and guaranteeing respect for a dish that has its roots in the distant past.

The cake and pastry lab

The pastry lab of the Galleria Restaurant born in 2010. With international influences, it ranges from the timeless and most requested desserts of the Italian tradition to seasonal proposals and specific customer requests: a warm apple tart with sugar and cinnamon was created for Daniel Barenboim, for Professor Veronesi an olive oil shortcrust cake with almond milk cream and red forest pearls, without animal derivatives.
